Chandigarh: Musical equipments of Kakuna Club seized

The owner and general manager of the Kakuna CLub, Secor 7 was arrested by the Chandigarh police for allegedly playing loud music beyond permissible limit on late Saturday night. Later, the duo was released on bail. The committee constituted by Nitish Singla, SDM East under section 139 CrPC seized the musical equipments of Kakuna club situated in Sector 7 here after the field inspection to regulate the loud music.
The club owner, Yuvraj Gulati (25), a resident of Sector 18-C, who is a grandson of senior AAP leader and former Union Minister Harmohan Dhawan, and general manager Zaid Khan (43), a resident of Mani Majra, had failed to show the documents for permission to play loud music late at night.
The residents of Sector 7 had given complaints of loud music sound causing inconvenience/ disturbance to the people in the surrounding areas. On the basis of representations made by the residents, and on the grounds of violations of the guidelines by the High Court of Punjab and Haryana, the SDM (East) gave directions to these three night clubs namely Vault, Grapho and Kakuna to desist from playing music at high volume that is causing physical discomfort to the residents.
A committee consisting of Tehsildar (East), Scientist, Pollution Control Board and SHO, Police Station- 26 was constituted to check the
noise pollution in the clubs/restaurants/bars in that area. The Committee remained functional from 6:00 PM to 12:00 PM daily and the aggrieved persons could contact the committee members directly on their mobile phone for the immediate redressal of their complaints.
The committee would remain functional to address the complaints of the residents and serious action will be taken against the violators.
