Kapurthala bags bronze award for outstanding performance in eradicating TB
Deputy Commissioner hails efforts of Health Officials- also asks to further strengthen activities against TB

Kapurthala, November 14, 2022: In a rare feat, Kapurthala district has bagged the Bronze award for outstanding performance in reducing the cases of Tuberculosis (TB) under the Punjab Government and National health mission to eradicate TB till 2025.
Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal while hailing the efforts of health officials and administration, said that Kapurthala has played a significant role by reducing nearly 20 % cases of TB to achieve the target set by the Punjab government for the eradication of TB by 2025.
He informed that Kapurthala district has been awarded by the Punjab government with a bronze medal, trophy, and certificate under the "Bronze Award", which was a matter of pride for the entire district.
It is worth mentioning here that the performance of the Kapurthala district has been described as outstanding by the Central TB Division at the national level for the efforts of the Kapurthala administration in reducing TB cases by 20 percent.
He further said that receiving this prestigious award has given a great honor to the district administration and its residents besides inspiring them to make more serious efforts for the eradication of TB.
During the state-level ceremony organized at MGSIPA Chandigarh, the award was received by Dr. Meenakshi on behalf of the district administration from Managing Director of National Health Mission Abhinav Trikha and Director Health and Family Welfare Department, Punjab Dr. Ranjit Singh.
Prominent others present on the occasion included Civil surgeon Dr. Gurinderbir Kaur and the official of the health department.
