Steps to promote the heritage, culture & tourism places of Patiala district: DC Patiala
- Meeting called by DC Sakshi Sawhney to explore ideas for putting Patiala on the world tourism map

Patiala, November 29, 2022: The Deputy commissioner disclosed that a steering committee will be constituted soon to promote the heritage, culture, and tourism places of Patiala district.
She mentioned that along with Patiala, the heritage and historical importance of Bahadurgarh, Ghulam, Samana, Nabha, and Rajpura will also be explored and focused on.
Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney was speaking while a high-level meeting at the District Administration Complex here today to put Patiala on the map of world tourism.
Municipal Commissioner Aditya Uppal, Patiala Foundation Chief Functionary Ravee Ahluwalia, and District Tourist Officer Hardeep Singh were present at the meeting.DC Patiala affirmed the Idea of Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann about making the culture, tourism, and heritage importance of Patiala district accessible to Patialvis as well as tourists from all over the world.
DC vocalized that a steering committee is being set up under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner to carry out the entire work, in which Municipal Corporation Commissioner, ADC Urban Development, SDM Patiala, Representatives from Patiala Foundation (an NGO), Tourist Information Center will play an important role.
Sakshi Sawhney announced a heritage walk for students of schools and colleges to make them aware of the glorious past and historical buildings of Patiala city including Samana, Bahadurgarh, Ghuram, Nabha, Rajpura, etc.
Sakshi Sawhney discussed various proposals for promoting tourism in Patiala which include heritage walks, installation of boards near historical places, and initiating selfie points #beingpatialvi.
