Kapurthala: DC suspends 593 expired arms licenses
One month time given for renewal

Kapurthala, 23 January 23, 2023: Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Vishesh Sarangal has issued an order to suspend 593 arms licenses in the Kapurthala district. These arms license holders did not apply for renewal of their arms license on time.
He has also ordered that until these arms licenses are renewed, the arms should be deposited. In this regard, instructions have also been issued to the respective SHOs.
He said that based on the report given by the District Technical Coordinator about the expired arms licenses, 593 such licenses have been identified which were not applied for renewal.
He said that all 593 arms licenses have been suspended and 30 days has been given to apply for renewal of the said licenses.He clarified that if the said firearms license holders do not apply for renewal within the given time, their firearms licenses will be canceled.
It is to be mentioned that out of the 593 arms licenses suspended, 15 related to PS Begowal, 34 of Bhulath, 69 of City Kapurthala, 44 of City Phagwara, 43 of Dhilwan, 12 of Fattudhinga, 41 of Kabirpur, 43 of Kotwali Kapurthala, Rawalpindi 16, 59 of Sadar Kapurthala, Sadar Phagwara 23, Satnampura 9, Subhanpur 30, Sultanpur Lodhi 119 and police station Talwandi Chowdhury's 36 firearm licenses were included.
