No one will be allowed to disturb the peace-Batala MLA Kalsi on anti-social elements

Batala, July 27, 2024:Amansher Singh Sherry Kalsi, youngest MLA Batala said that drug dealers will not be spared at all and in this regard, Chief Minister Punjab, Bhagwant Mann has given strict guidelines to the police department.
MLA Sherry Kalsi said in a conversation that regarding the incidents committed by anti-social elements for the past few days in Batala area, they have spoken to the higher officials of the police department and asked them to take a strict action against them.
He said in a strict tone that no one will be allowed to disturb the peace. He further said that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan, has started a decisive war against drugs.
He said that the state government has asked the police to speed up the process of confiscating the property of the smugglers with the money of drug trafficking and action is being taken quickly in this regard.
MLA Sherry Kalsi further said that drug addiction is a major social evil and collective efforts are needed to eradicate it from the society.He reiterated that drug traffickers will not be spared at all.
On the last day, a ransom of 50 lakh rupees was demanded from a goldsmith of Sri Hargobindpur Sahib and bullets were fired at his shop.
In this regard, the Batala police took strict action and on Saturday morning, the Batala police chased a gangster and arrested him in an encounter.After a three-hour struggle, gunfire broke out between the police and gangsters in the fields of Longowal, a village near Batala.
During this encounter, a gangster was injured and the police took him into custody and admitted him to Batala Civil Hospital for treatment.
