Mohali: District Red Cross Society launches Mobile Testing Van

SAS Nagar, August 24, 2024: To facilitate the needy with quality health services, the District Red Cross Society led by Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain, today, launched a mobile testing van in service of human beings.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Viraj S Tidke while flagging off the mobile testing van, said that this is the second novel initiative taken by the District Red Cross Society in the last two months.
Earlier an ambulance service was launched in the previous month.He said that the mobile testing van-cum-sample collection van will work in tandem with the District Hospital’s Doctors team to cater the medical services to the people through special medical checkup camps.
This van was provided by the Indian Red Cross Society to the District Red Cross Society to push it into public service, he added. The mobile testing-cum-sample collection van is equipped with AC, Fridge, Sanitize Machines besides an Appondorf machine that separates plasma from blood.
The van has a seating capacity for doctors and paramedics. He said the first medical camp after launching the van was organized at Government Primary School Siau where 83 students were examined by a team of doctors from the district hospital to protect them from dental, eyes and other health issues.
ADC Viraj Tidke further said that besides the medical camp ‘Joy of Giving team’ donated two Smart TVs, Six Fans, and an Electric Tea Pot for the betterment of the school.
A drawing competition was also conducted for primary classes besides playing a Nukkad Natak to sensitise them to Women Empowerment and Self Security.
Additional Deputy Commissioner also planted a mango tree sapling in the presence of District Education Officer (Elementary) Prem Kumar Mittal, Head Mistress Jasbir Kaur and Secretary Red Cross Society Harbans Singh in the premises of the school.
