Sri Anandpur Sahib, September 04,2024: Dr. Preeti Yadav, Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman of Indian Red Cross Society, Rupnagar, said that people who believe in public service should come forward to join the Red Cross, so that timely help could be ensured to every needy person in distant areas.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav presided over the meeting of the Executive Committee and General Body of the Indian Red Cross Society, Rupnagar, at the Sub-Divisional Office meeting hall today.
She said that the land of Sri Anandpur Sahib, blessed by the Guru Sahibs, has given the message of human welfare. Bhai Ghaniya Ji has set an example of human service.
A program dedicated to him will be held by the Indian Red Cross Society on 21 and 22 September at Sri Anandpur Sahib. She said that on 24 September, an assessment camp will be held at Sri Anandpur Sahib to provide artificial limbs/appliances to the disabled.
In addition, first aid training will be provided in schools and colleges, and volunteer teams will be formed.
She further stated that first aid training and Red Cross cooperation will be promoted in NFL and other companies, and those willing to serve the society voluntarily will be made members of the Red Cross.
The Deputy Commissioner said that many social service organizations and leaders are finding themselves unable to serve to full capacity due to the lack of a proper platform. Therefore, it has been decided to provide the right direction to each and every dedicated person as well as organization to contribute towards community service .
For this, the administration has now become fully active. She said that information about the needy should be reached as much as possible so that the required assistance can be made available to every deserving needy.
On this occasion, Gurshohan Singh, Secretary, Red Cross Rupnagar, made the group members aware that in any situation, in case of any incident, what precautions should be taken to deal with it and motivated to make more and more members.
