Kapurthala DC orders SDMG and DSP to visit markets daily
Paddy procurement exceeded half of the target set

Kapurthala, October 28, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal has directed the SDMs and DSPs to visit the markets daily so that procurement of paddy can be ensured in a smooth manner.
He said that the purchase of paddy in Kapurthala district has exceeded half of the set target and more than 840 crore rupees have been paid to the farmers.
Till yesterday, 411868 metric tons of paddy arrived in 78 mandis of the district, of which 409057 metric tons have been purchased, which is 54 percent of the set target of 760983 metric tons.
The Deputy Commissioner ordered the officials to pay special attention to the lifting work and said that daily lifting is being done at 20 thousand metric tons.Apart from this, payment is being made to the farmers in exchange for the purchased paddy, under which payment of Rs.840.87 crore has been made.
It is to be noted that Pangrain has bought the most 34 percent, Markfed 32 percent, PNSP 23 percent, and Punjab State Warehouse Corporation 10 percent of paddy.
