Over 2,900 registrations for CM’s Yogashala in Moga district
- Deputy Commissioner Highlights the Program’s Role in Promoting Public Health

Moga, November 26, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Moga, Vishesh Sarangal, announced the impressive success of the CM’s Yogashala, a flagship initiative of the Punjab Government aimed at providing free yoga education to citizens.
With 2,900 registrations and over 1,800 individuals actively participating in 90 yoga sessions daily across the district, the program has garnered widespread acclaim for its focus on improving physical and mental well-being.
Highlighting the initiative’s impact, Deputy Commissioner Sarangal stated, “Yoga is an essential practice for achieving a healthy and balanced life. The CM’s Yogashala program reflects the Punjab Government’s commitment to enhancing public health by making yoga accessible to all.”
The initiative leverages a dedicated team of certified yoga instructors to organize sessions at various locations across Moga district, including KL Kapoor Park, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park, Dashmesh Park, Green Field Park, Sandhu Dharamshala, Nature Park, and Lalpur Railway Park. Additionally, sessions are being conducted in Bagha Purana, Nihal Singh Wala, Kot Ise Khan, Dharamkot, and other areas, ensuring the program reaches both urban and rural populations.
Participants in the program benefit from structured yoga activities such as meditation, light exercises, asanas, pranayama, and Surya Namaskar. These sessions have been particularly impactful, with many attendees reporting relief from chronic conditions such as arthritis, thyroid disorders, high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, and migraines. The program has proven to be a holistic approach to improving health, enabling participants to lead more active and fulfilling lives.
Deputy Commissioner Sarangal praised the efforts of the program’s coordinators and trainers, including Azad Singh, Praveen Kamboj, Manga Singh, and others, for their dedication in raising awareness about the benefits of yoga. Their efforts have successfully mobilized the community to embrace yoga as a sustainable health practice.
Expressing gratitude to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Deputy Commissioner Sarangal said, “This initiative is a testament to the Chief Minister’s vision for a healthier Punjab.
