Patiala: Two-day training program on ‘Sevottam – Delivery of Quality Public Services’ Concludes at MGSIPA

Patiala (Punjab), November 27: The Mahatma Gandhi State Institution of Public Administration (MGSIPA), Regional Centre Patiala, successfully conducted a two-day training program on ‘Sevottam – Delivery of Quality Public Services’ for officers and officials of various departments in district Patiala. Sponsored by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Government of India, the program aimed to enhance the understanding of public servants regarding Sevottam principles, including the Citizen Charter and Grievance Redressal Mechanism.
Providing details about the initiative, Inderbir Kaur Mann, Regional Project Director, MGSIPA Regional Centre Patiala, emphasized that the training was designed to equip participants with critical knowledge to improve public service delivery and ensure citizen satisfaction.
On the first day, Project Coordinator Amarjit Singh Sodhi introduced the objectives of the training program and its relevance in today’s administrative framework.
IDAS (Retd.) D.C. Gupta elaborated on the concept of Sevottam, the Punjab Transparency and Accountability in Delivery of Public Services Act, 2018, the Right to Information Act, and Punjab Rules 2017, providing insightful guidance to the participants.
Satish Bansal, District Technical Coordinator, E-Governance, Sangrur, shared an overview of the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) and citizen-centric service delivery platforms, including the e-Sewa portal and Sewa Kendras. Retired Assistant Director of Punjab School Education, Yashpal Manvi, stressed the importance of positive attitudes, integrity, and ethical behavior in delivering quality public services and addressing grievances effectively.
The program concluded with group discussions among participants, who shared their feedback and insights gained during the sessions.
The training was lauded for its comprehensive coverage and practical relevance in improving the efficiency of public service delivery mechanisms.
