Three-Day Workshop in Fazilka Boosts Coordination among Army, BSF, and Civil Administration

Fazilka, August 21, 2025 – A comprehensive three-day workshop was held in Fazilka to enhance collaboration between the Indian Army, Border Security Force (BSF), and the civil administration, focusing on security, development, and welfare in border areas.
Key officials attending included Brigadier Sushil Chandwani of the Indian Army, Deputy Commissioner Amarpreeet Kaur Sandhu, Senior Superintendent of Police Gurmeet Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. Mandeep Kaur, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Veerpal Kaur, senior BSF officers, and heads of various district departments.
Deliberations emphasized strengthening basic infrastructure and addressing security challenges in border regions. The need for effective coordination and communication among the Army, BSF, and civil authorities was stressed to ensure improved security and civic amenities for border residents.
The workshop also resolved to provide guidance and training to border youth to encourage recruitment into the Army and paramilitary forces. Discussions included the implementation of welfare, employment, and social security schemes for ex-servicemen, along with utilizing their expertise for societal and youth development.
The Indian Army assured ongoing readiness to support civil authorities during conflicts and natural disasters. Participants further agreed on maintaining vigilance against rumors and fake news to sustain peace and security in border areas.
All officers unanimously committed to continued joint efforts to address border residents’ issues and strengthen national security. The Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by other officials, concluded the workshop with a visit to border areas and a tribute at the Asafwala War Memorial.
