Will poor and underprivileged get the Corona vaccine free or not?, asks Randeep Surjewala
Chandigarh, January 17, 2021: A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched began the vaccination drive against Covid-19, Congress leader Randeep Surjewala said that vaccination should not be viewed as a political or business opportunity.
Surjewala took to Twitter to comment on the ongoing vaccination drive against Covid-19.
“While India stands united in providing immunization against Corona Virus to our Frontline Corona Warriors i.e. Doctors, Health Workers, Police Personnel & others, let’s remember that vaccinations are an important Public Service & not a Political or Business Opportunity!,” posted Congress leader on Twitter.

In a statement posted by him on Twitter, he also asked the Modi-led government how will it cover 135 crores of citizens under the vaccination drive.
“As per India’s Drug Controller Shri V.G Somani, the Modi government has ordered 165 lakhs of doses of Corona vaccine (5.5 million Covaxin and 11 million Covishield). At 2 doses per person, this would cover 82.50 lakhs, although the government claims it will cover 3 crore people in the first round, PM and Modi government are refusing to answer as to how will be a remaining population of India i.e 135 crore citizens will get Corona vaccine as to whether they will be free for them,” said Randeep Surjewala.
“Will the SC, ST, BC, OBC, BPL, APL, Poor and underprivileged get the Corona vaccine free or not? If Yes, what is the roll-out plan and by when would be govt ensure free vaccination,” he asked
