Banwarilal Purohit felicitates winning team of 18th Administrator’s Challenge Cup-All India Football Tournament 2022

Chandigarh, November 29, 2022:
Banwarilal Purohit, Governor Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh , felicitated the winning team during the closing ceremony of 18th Administrator’s Challenge Cup- All India Football Tournament 2022 (Under-17 Boys) at Sports Complex, Sector 46 here on Tuesday.
The 18th Administrator’s Challenge Cup concluded as the final match was held today on 29th November 2022 wherein the Round Glass Football Club Punjab beats the IYA Manipur by 6 – 0.
The final match turned out to be a one sided affair and lacked thrill and excitement, contrary to expectations of the football fans and sports enthusiasm of Chandigarh.
Final results of the match: Winner was Round Glass Football Club, Punjab while Runner up was IYA, Manipur and 3rd Place was bagged by Zinc Football Academy, Udaipur, Rajasthan.
Winning team was presented Gold Medals and Rs.2,00,000/- as Cash Prize, Runner up team was presented Silver Medals and Rs.1,00,000/- as Cash Prize and 3rd Place holder team was presented Bronze Medals and Rs.75,000/- as Cash Prize.
Scorers for Winning Team were as follows: First Goal-Sana Thoi-6th Minute,
Second Goal-Sana Thoi-27th Minute, Third Goal-Y. Boby-31st Minute, Fourth Goal-Omang-55th Minute, Fifth Goal-Sana Thoi-71st Minute, Sixth Goal-Shaiza-81st Minute.
Banwarilal Purohit, Governor Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh Administration, was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony who gave away prizes to Winner, Runner up and 3rd Place holder teams.
In his address, he congratulated the players for taking part in this tournament. He also congratulated the Sports Department, UT Chandigarh and everyone who contributed to make this tournament a success.
Purohit said that competition, exposure and interaction with players from all over the country gives opportunity to players for self-assessment, introspection and improvement in skills.
Dharam Pal, Adviser to the Administrator, Nitin Kumar Yadav, Home Secretary, Vijay Namdeorao Zade, Finance Secretary, Praveer Ranjan, Director General of Police, Chandigarh, Rakhi Gupta Bhandari, Principal Secretary to Governor, Sanjay Tandon, Chairman Sports Advisory Committee, and Vinod P Kavle, Secretary Sports also graced the occasion.
Dr. Sunil Rayat, Joint Director, Sports, gave Vote of Thanks.
