Haryana, the first state in the country to map health facilities-Anil Vij

Chandigarh, February 21, 2024 - Haryana Health and Family Welfare Minister, Anil Vij said, "In the previous session, I had stated that we will conduct mapping related to health facilities, and we have completed the mapping, making Haryana the first state in the country to map health facilities.
In this mapping, information regarding the gaps, the required staff, the necessary equipment, and all other details have been made available. It has been decided to fulfil the gaps identified in this mapping within 3 years."
Vij was responding to a question during the Budget Session-2024 of Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today.While providing information, he said that according to the mapping of health facilities carried out, 164 Community Health Centres, 671 Primary Health Centres, 186 UPHC, and 4024 SHCs are required. He said that we have demanded a budget of Rs. 500 crore for this in this session and it is hoped that it will be passed.
He said that earlier, health facilities were provided according to the demand, but now he wishes to ensure health facilities in the state according to the need. He said that wherever needed, we will establish health facilities and also make equipment available.
He informed that a Primary Health Centre is operational on about 4 acres of government land in village Dahina, district Rewari.
This institution is providing health services to a total population of 37,878. As per the Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS) 2022 criteria, a population of 1,00,000 to 1,20,000 is required to establish a Community Health Centre (CHC).
Upgrading the Primary Health Centre, Dahina to a Community Health Centre (CHC) does not meet the standard population criteria.
Primary Health Centre, Dahina is located 18 km from Community Health Centre, Gurawara, 18 km from Community Health Centre, Khol, 17 kilometers from 50-bed Sub-Divisional Hospital, Kosli, 11 km from 50-bed Sub-Divisional Hospital, Kanina (Mahendragarh), 26 km from Community Health Centre, Nahar, and 28 km from 200-bedded District Civil Hospital, Rewari.
