Ferozepur hosts thrilling Zonal Badminton Tournament at School of Eminence

Ferozepur, August 10, 2024: The School of Eminence (SOE) in Ferozepur recently hosted the annual zonal badminton tournament as part of the Punjab government's initiative to promote sports.
The competition, held from August 7 to August 10, saw enthusiastic participation from various schools, with teams competing in the under-14, under-17, and under-19 categories for both boys and girls.
Principal Rajesh Mehta, alongside sports conveners and coaches, ensured the event ran smoothly in the school's state-of-the-art gymnasium, equipped with international-standard synthetic mats. The gym's top-notch facilities provided players with a professional tournament experience.
In the boys' category, the DC Model School, Ferozepur Cantt, dominated, securing first place in all three age groups. The girls' competition saw the DC Model School taking the lead in the under-14 and under-19 categories, while the School of Eminence, Ferozepur, shone in the under-17 group.
Principal Mehta congratulated the winners and motivated those who did not secure medals to keep striving for excellence.
Senior Physical Education Lecturer, Gurbrinder Kaur, encouraged the players, emphasizing that participation and effort are the true rewards of sports, while medals are secondary.
