MLA Dahiya releases poster on ‘Every Friday War Against Dengue’ awareness campaign
"Public Participation is Key to Dengue Prevention" – Dahiya
Ferozepur, October 25, 2024: To combat the spread of dengue, Ferozepur Rural MLA Advocate Rajneesh Dahiya has released an awareness poster and banner, emphasizing preventive measures. The event saw the presence of School Health Medical Officer Dr. Harpreet Kaur, District Mass Media Officer Sanjeev Sharma, Deputy Mass Media Officers Ankush Bhandari and Neha Bhandari.
Under the leadership of Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajwinder Kaur, the district's Health Department has launched an ongoing awareness initiative titled ‘Every Friday War Against Dengue,’ educating the public on preventive measures and the significance of ‘Friday – Dry Day’ to curb dengue breeding grounds. This includes information on causes, precautions, and treatment of dengue.
MLA Dahiya urged citizens to join the mission of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s vision for a "Healthy, Vibrant Punjab." He stressed that dedicating one day a week to eliminating stagnant water—such as in coolers, trays behind refrigerators, and other areas at home, school, or work—could significantly reduce dengue cases. Dahiya emphasized that community involvement in maintaining cleanliness and avoiding stagnant water is critical for effective dengue prevention.
District Mass Media Officer Sanjeev Sharma, alongside Deputy Officers Ankush Bhandari and Neha Bhandari, informed the public that additional information can be accessed through the toll-free helpline 104. They also highlighted that all government hospitals in Punjab offer free dengue testing, medication, and treatment.
