DIG Ferozepur launches Anti-Drug Awareness Banner to combat addiction
Ferozepur, January 3, 2025: : In a collaborative effort to promote a drug-free society, the Police and Health Departments launched an awareness campaign by unveiling an anti-drug banner at Vivekananda World School, Ferozepur, on New Year's Day. The initiative, led by DIG Ferozepur Range Ranjit Singh Dhillon and SSP Soumya Mishra, aims to raise awareness about the dangers of drug addiction and encourage collective action against this menace.
Addressing the gathering, DIG Dhillon emphasized the urgent need to protect the youth from the grip of drugs, highlighting that the nation's progress depends on the active participation of its younger generation. He called for a united effort from all sections of society to create a healthy, drug-free community.
SSP Mishra echoed similar sentiments, urging every citizen to contribute to steering the youth towards a positive and productive path. She stressed the importance of addressing the harmful effects of addiction and rehabilitating affected individuals.
District Mass Media Officer Sanjeev Sharma noted the significant role of collective action in eradicating addiction, calling it a disease that silently destroys lives. Deputy Mass Media Officer Ankush Bhandari highlighted the Health Department’s ongoing awareness drives, led by Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajwinder Kaur, and encouraged youth to utilize government-established de-addiction centers for recovery.
The event was attended by Vivekananda World School Chairman Gaurav Sagar Bhaskar, Principal Tejinderpal Kaur, Professor S.N. Rudra, Dolly Bhaskar, and others. Together, they pledged to work tirelessly towards eradicating addiction and fostering a progressive society.
