Director Health Services Punjab conducts surprise visit to Ferozepur Civil Hospital
Ferozepur, February 14, 2025: In a bid to enhance healthcare services, Punjab’s Director of Health Services and Family Welfare, Dr. Jasminder Kaur, along with Deputy Director Dr. Navjot Kaur, conducted a surprise visit to the Civil Surgeon’s office and Civil Hospital, Ferozepur. The primary objective of the visit was to review maternal and child healthcare services and take measures to reduce maternal mortality rates in the district. The officials held meetings with healthcare authorities and issued directives for improvements.
During the visit, Dr Jasminder Kaur inspected the maternity ward, labour room, Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU), OPD for pregnant women, vaccination room, and cold storage facilities. She interacted with expectant and new mothers to assess the quality of services being provided.
Dr Kaur also met with the DEIC (District Early Intervention Center) staff, instructing them to ensure that more children receive treatment and counselling at the centre. She emphasized the need for RBKS field teams to be proactive in referring children for healthcare services. She also directed all medical staff to perform their duties diligently.
Addressing concerns over cleanliness, Dr Kaur stressed strict adherence to bio-medical waste disposal regulations and called for enhanced sanitation measures. She also instructed hospital authorities to ensure that patients are not prescribed medicines from outside and expressed satisfaction with the existing healthcare services while urging further improvements.
The visit was attended by Civil Surgeon Dr Rajwinder Kaur, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr Sushma Thakkar, District Immunization Officer Dr Meenakshi Abrol, Dr Gurmej Ram (DMC), Senior Medical Officer Dr Nikhil Gupta, Dr Harpreet Kaur, Dr Jasleen Gill, Dr Saminder Kaur, Deputy Mass Media Officer Ankush Bhandari, Neha Bhandari, Vikas Kalra PA and the entire staff of Civil Hospital, Ferozepur.
