Bhagirath Meena, SSP inaugurates Readers Club – one of its kind, formed at Women’s College
Ferozepur, February 20, 2021: A Readers Club – of its kind, has been formed at local Dev Samaj College for Women – a leading educational institution in border town - under the tutelage of Dr.Ramnita Sharma, Principal and with best wishes of Shriman Nirmal Singh Dhillon Ji, Chairman to create an opportunity for people to become enthusiastic and enthralled with the wonderful world of literature.
Inaugurating the Readers Club, Bhagirath Meena, Sr. Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur said, the students’ love for books will increase which will put them wiser on various issues.
On the occasion, Dr.Ramnita Sharda said, reading inspires, empowers, and provides a link to all education throughout your life. In this digital era, the writing and reading habits have decreased among the students especially during the Covid pandemic period as they had been away from books.
To fill up this vacuum, Readers Club has been established in the College, to cultivate a culture of reading sharing critical ideas with each other besides improving communication and language skills.
Thanking the SSP for inaugurating the Readers Club, she said, the students’ love for books will increase which will put them wiser on various issues.
Meanwhile, Prof Shiv Sethi, Head of Functional English Department was made in charge of Readers Club.
