Woman BDPO transferred after following Akali Dal complaint

Nabha (Punjab), December 9, 2025: In a major administrative move, the Election Commission has ordered the transfer of Baljit Kaur, the Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO) of Nabha, following a complaint filed by the Shiromani Akali Dal.
According to official information, the action was initiated after allegations surfaced that BDPO Baljit Kaur was not issuing No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to Akali Dal candidates who had filed nomination papers for the Zila Parishad and Block Samiti elections. This reportedly disrupted the nomination process and led to strong protests in the area.
