Punjabi Woman IPS Officer Appointed SP of Guna District in Madhya Pradesh

Hitika Vasal, a 2017-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, has been appointed as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Guna district in Madhya Pradesh. Prior to this posting, she served as SP of Indore Rural and most recently held the position of Commandant of the 15th Battalion, Special Armed Force (SAF), Indore.
Known for her dedication and efficiency, she is regarded as one of the promising young officers in the Madhya Pradesh Police.
A native of Dasuya in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur district, she comes from a family associated with education and construction. Her father runs “Vasal Builders” and is involved in managing several schools and commercial projects in Jalandhar.
She completed her early education at Sacred Heart School, Dalhousie, and later passed her Class 12 examinations from DAV School, Chandigarh. She went on to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology (Honours) from the University of Delhi, followed by a Master’s degree in Sociology from Manchester, UK.
After returning to India, she prepared for the UPSC Civil Services Examination and secured an impressive All India Rank of 121, earning her a place in the IPS.
With her appointment as SP of Guna, expectations are high among both the police force and the public as she takes on this important leadership role.
