Heatwave warning: IMD issues 'red alert' for Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana till May 28

Chandigarh, May 26, 2024: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a severe heatwave red alert for the states of Punjab, Haryana, and the Union Territory Chandigarh for May 26, 27 and 28.
As temperatures soar across Northwest India, the weather agency has predicted continued heatwave to severe heatwave conditions till May 28.Further, for May 29 and 30, IMD has issued heat waves to severe heat wave conditions likely at few places and warm nights at isolated places.
