Bangalore, November 5, 2025; — In an innovative move to keep the city cleaner, the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) and Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML) have rolled out a new citizen-participation campaign that rewards residents for helping identify those who dump garbage on city streets.
Under this initiative, citizens can record and share photos or videos of individuals littering in public spaces through a designated WhatsApp number or the official social media handles of BSWML. Once verified, the civic body will reward the contributor with ₹250 for every valid report.
Officials said the step aims to strengthen community involvement in maintaining public hygiene and holding habitual offenders accountable. The city administration has already been taking strict action against repeat violators — including returning the dumped waste to their doorsteps and imposing heavy fines.
