Northern Railway announces 13 Special Trains for passenger convenience
New Delhi, December 5, 2025: To manage the expected festive and passenger rush, Northern Railway has announced the operation of 13 special trains, including multiple trips on select routes. These trains will run between December 6 and December 12, 2025, covering major destinations such as Anand Vihar Terminal, Gorakhpur, Patna, Darbhanga, Mumbai Central, Sabarmati, Howrah, Jaipur, and Thiruvananthapuram.
Railways will operate Train No. 05591/05592 Gorakhpur–Anand Vihar Terminal–Gorakhpur Special for two trips each way on 7–9 December 2025. A reserved Vande Bharat Special Express, Train No. 02439/02440 New Delhi–Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan–New Delhi, will run on December 6, 2025.
The zone has also introduced Train No. 04002/04001 New Delhi–Mumbai Central–New Delhi Reserved Superfast Special Express, scheduled for December 6 and 7, 2025. Another long-distance service, Train No. 04080 Hazrat Nizamuddin–Thiruvananthapuram Central Reserved Superfast Special, will run one-way on December 6, 2025.
For Eastern India passengers, Special Train No. 04460/04459 New Delhi–Howrah–New Delhi will operate on 6 and 8 December 2025. Similarly, Train No. 04062/04061 Delhi Sarai Rohilla–Sabarmati–Delhi Sarai Rohilla Reserved Special is planned for 6 and 7 December 2025.
To clear heavy traffic on the Patna route, Northern Railway will operate Train No. 02309/02310 Patna Jn–Anand Vihar Terminal–Patna for two trips on 6, 7, 8, and 9 December 2025. Another service on this section, Train No. 02395/02396 Patna–Anand Vihar Terminal–Patna Special, will run on 7 and 8 December 2025.
For Darbhanga-bound travellers, Train No. 05563/05564 Darbhanga–Anand Vihar Terminal–Darbhanga Special will run on 7 and 9 December 2025.
Western India will be connected through Train No. 09003/09004 Mumbai Central–Shakur Basti–Mumbai Central Superfast Special, operating on 8–11 December 2025, and Train No. 09497/09498 Sabarmati BG–Delhi Jn.–Sabarmati BG Superfast Special, running on 8–11 December 2025.
