Amritsar: Rocket and Rocket Shells Found in Village

Amritsar, May 8, 2025: A rocket and rocket shells, along with some burnt components, were found in the fields of Jethuwal village in Amritsar. According to Dainik Bhaskar, SSP Rural Maninder Singh confirmed the incident. It remains unclear how these rockets or rocket-like parts ended up in Amritsar’s fields. It is believed that these rockets were destroyed in the sky during a counteraction. Locals reported hearing loud explosions at night, followed by a blackout lasting about three hours. Upon receiving information about the rocket and blasts in Jethuwal village, the police promptly arrived at the scene and informed the army immediately.

Amritsar MP Gurjit Singh Aujla issued an important statement, urging people to remain calm amid the current situation. He said, “If a small blast occurs during a mock drill, don’t assume it’s an attack. Something similar happened last night, but nothing came from across the border.” He added that such incidents may happen occasionally. Aujla emphasized that Amritsar is the city of Gurus and reassured people, saying, “Have faith, nothing will happen.” He urged the public not to worry, stating, “We stand with you, and we will overcome these circumstances.” He expressed pride in the armed forces and called for national unity.
Regarding Amritsar Airport, Aujla said it will remain closed until May 10 for mock drills and Air Force operations. He reiterated his appeal for calm and urged people not to panic or hoard rations, clarifying that there is no situation warranting such actions. He warned that some are exploiting the situation to sell rations at inflated prices and advised people to ignore rumors.
