Sultanpur Lodhi (Kapurthala), September 6, 2025: The Beas river is dangerously breaching the embankment at village Khijarpur, near the Expressway Bridge in Sultanpur Lodhi, triggering an emergency situation and putting three villages and nearly 4,500 acres of standing crops at risk of submergence.
Local leaders and villagers have issued an urgent appeal to people across Punjab to rush to the site with soil bags to reinforce the bundh and prevent large-scale flooding.
