MLA Kulwant Singh’s son Sarabjit Singh Samana is new Mohali Mayor

Mohali (Punjab), June 9, 2026: The Mohali Municipal Corporation on Tuesday elected Sarabjit Singh Samana, son of Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh, as the new Mayor of the city.
Alongside the mayoral election, RP Sharma was elected as the Senior Deputy Mayor, while former Vice-President Harpal Singh Channa was chosen as the Deputy Mayor.
The election proceedings witnessed political drama as councillors of the Shiromani Akali Dal staged a walkout during the meeting.
In a notable security measure, mobile phones of all councillors were collected and kept outside the gate of the Municipal Corporation building before the voting process commenced.
