Former IAS officer & BJP leader Parmpal Kaur visits flood victims, Demands immediate release of compensation from State
Ferozepur, October 12, 2025: Former IAS officer Parmpal Kaur and BJP leader, Parmpal Kaur, and daughter-in-law of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) senior leader Sikandar Singh Maluka, arrived in Firozpur to visit flood-affected villages and meet the distressed victims. She also met with villagers and prominent families residing near the Indo-Pakistan border area. Parampal Kaur Sidhu, was 2011 batch IAS officer who resigned and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
After her village visits, she addressed her supporters at a city hotel, accompanied by District President Sarvajeet Singh Bath and other senior party) leaders.
During her address, Parmpal Kaur severely criticized the government for its handling of the flood situation, stating that the extent of the damage could have been significantly lessened had preparations been made beforehand.
She pointed out that the farmers who have suffered losses should receive compensation, but they haven't received anything yet.
Parmpal Kaur contrasted the state's inaction with the central government's efforts, noting that the Centre had already released ₹12.5 crore and allocated ₹1,600 crore to assist Punjab with flood relief.
Unfortunately, the money for flood relief has been stalled due to the politics of Punjab's leaders and their arrogance," she alleged. Thousands of acres of cultivated land have been ruined, and homes have been damaged or destroyed because the water was diverted to the riverbed.
She asserted that the BJP is committed to supporting flood victims and demanded that the state government immediately take action, to ensure fair compensation reaches all affected people. We will be with the victims at every step until justice is served, she vowed.
