The main Central Services of India are as Under:

All India Services:

These are common to both the Centre and State Governments:
1. IAS – Indian Administrative Service
2. IPS – Indian Police Service
3. IFoS – Indian Forest Service (recruited through a separate exam, but considered an All India Service)
Central Civil Services – Group A (via UPSC CSE)

These services are controlled by the Central Government and include:
1. IRS (IT) – Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax)
2. IRS (C&CE) – Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Central Excise)
3. IA&AS – Indian Audit and Accounts Service
4. ICAS – Indian Civil Accounts Service
5. IDAS – Indian Defence Accounts Service
6. IDES – Indian Defence Estates Service
7. ICLS – Indian Corporate Law Service
8. IPoS – Indian Postal Service
9. IRPS – Indian Railway Personnel Service (merged into IRMS from 2023)
10. IRTS – Indian Railway Traffic Service (merged into IRMS)
11. ITS – Indian Trade Service
12. IAAS – Indian Accounts and Audit Service (often clubbed with IA&AS)
13. ISS – Indian Statistical Service (recruited through separate UPSC exam)
14. IESS – Indian Economic Service (recruited through separate UPSC exam)
Central Civil Services – Group B
1. DANICS – Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Service
2. DANIPS – Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Police Service
3. Pondicherry Civil Service (PCS) (now known as Arunachal Goa Mizoram Union Territories Service - AGMUT)
4. Pondicherry Police Service (PPS) (AGMUT Police cadre)
Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS)

As of recent reforms, Indian Railway services have been merged into IRMS, and UPSC CSE is now the gateway to IRMS as well.
