Kullu Landslide: Body of missing NDRF Jawan recovered; Five bodies found so far

Kullu (Himachal Pradesh), September 6, 2025: Rescue operations continue on a war footing at the Inner Akhara Bazaar in Kullu, where multiple people were trapped under debris following two separate landslides earlier this week.
Deputy Commissioner Toral S. Ravish informed that on September 3 and 4, two landslides in the Inner Akhara Bazaar area buried a total of eight people.
From the September 3 incident, the bodies of both missing persons have now been recovered. Among them is NDRF personnel Narendra, son of Sukhram, resident of Byasar, Kullu, whose body was recovered today.
From the September 4 landslide, the bodies of Bakar Ahmad Mir (son of Abdul Rashid Mir), Hussain Lone (son of Sultan Lone), and Tahir Din Ahmad Sheikh (son of Bashir Ahmad Sheikh) — all residents of Kashmir — have been retrieved.
So far, five bodies have been recovered, while the search for one remaining missing person continues with urgency.
DC Ravish said that arrangements are being made to hand over the bodies to their families. He added that the administration, NDRF, SDRF, police, and disaster management teams are working tirelessly to carry out relief and rescue operations.
