MP Sadeep Pathak visits Ferozepur; allocates Rs.5 Cr for flood affected villages
Ferozepur, September 3, 2025: Rajya Sabha Member Dr. Sandeep Pathak today visited flood-affected villages of Ferozepur to review the ground situation, listen to the grievances of affected residents, and assess the rising water levels.
During his visit to Hazara Singh Wala, Gatti Rajoke, Bareke Relief Centre, Ruknewala, Gajniwala (Dona Matar), Maboke, and Lakha Singh Wala Hithar, Dr. Pathak announced the release of Rs. 5 crore from his MPLADS funds for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of flood-affected villages and the resettlement of displaced families.
He was accompanied by Ferozepur City MLA Ranbir Singh Bhullar, Ferozepur Rural MLA Rajneesh Kumar Dahiya, Guru Harsahai MLA Fauja Singh Sarari, and District President Harjinder Singh Ghanga.
Dr. Pathak said that standing by the people during this crisis is not only a responsibility but also a moral duty. He interacted with flood victims at relief camps, listened to their problems, and issued on-the-spot directions to officials for necessary action. He assured that with joint efforts of the administration and public representatives, relief and rehabilitation work would be expedited so that affected families could return to normal life at the earliest.
At the Bareke school relief camp, Dr. Pathak personally met the displaced families, reviewed the facilities being provided, and expressed satisfaction after hearing positive feedback from the camp residents. He also praised the efforts of social workers and local youth, stressing that collective efforts in such testing times represent the true spirit of service.
Reiterating the Punjab Government’s commitment, Dr. Pathak assured adequate compensation to families for the losses they have suffered due to floods.
The event was also attended by Punjab Agro Chairman Shaminder Khinda, Chairman Iqbal Singh Dhillon, Balraj Singh Sandhu Mamdot, District Media Incharge Nirvair Singh Sindhi, Block Incharge Sunil Grover, Balraj Singh, Balwinder Singh Laddu, Balwinder Singh Raoke, Jaswant Singh Sodhi, Prakash Vadwal, along with several Aam Aadmi Party workers.
