Medical store sealed for four weeks over incomplete drug records
Ferozepur, April 21, 2025: As part of the Punjab Government's ground-level implementation of its anti-drug campaign, "Yudh Nashean Virudh" (War Against Drugs), the district civil and police administration continues to remain active. Under this campaign, Drug Inspector Sonia Gupta recovered certain medicines from Guru Nanak 13-13 Medical Store, located at Lakho Ke Behram, on April 1, 2025, due to the absence of proper records.
Taking strict action in this regard, the Zonal Licensing Authority has suspended the license of the said medical store for a period of four weeks. Following the suspension order, Drug Inspector Sonia Gupta sealed the store for the specified duration.
Speaking on the occasion, Drug Inspector Sonia Gupta stated that, acting under the directives of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma, a thorough inspection drive of medical stores is underway across the district as part of the anti-drug initiative.
She advised all chemists and drug sellers to refrain from selling banned substances and to strictly avoid selling any medicines, injections, or syringes without a valid doctor’s prescription. She also emphasized maintaining complete and accurate records of all medicines purchased and sold.
