Punjabi University Patiala honours Sukhwinder Singh Bindra

Patiala (Punjab), December 9, 2025: Sukhwinder Singh Bindra, Member (NISD) and Special Member (NCCDR), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, was specially honoured by the Vice Chancellor of Punjabi University Patiala, Dr. Jagdeep Singh, and the senior management for his outstanding work for the youth of Punjab.
On this occasion, Sukhwinder Singh Bindra said that his department continuously strives to keep the Youth away from drugs. He stated that every possible effort will be made for the development and progress of young people. Bindra expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Vice Chancellor Dr. Jagdeep Singh and the senior management.
Sukhwinder Singh Bindra added that his department, along with Dr. Virendra Kumar, Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment, will continue working for the welfare of the youth. All possible steps will be taken for their well-being, development, and to steer them away from drugs.
Recently, a National-Level Program was organised in Amritsar under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, in which a large number of school and college students, BSF personnel, self-help groups, spiritual organisations, youth clubs, and NGOs participated.
This rally further strengthened the nationwide campaign of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. Drug addiction destroys entire families. The campaign is giving young people an opportunity to move forward by freeing them from addiction and motivating them to participate in sports.
At the same time, individuals and organisations contributing excellently in rehabilitation and de-addiction are being recognised and honoured.
In conclusion, Bindra thanked Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Cabinet Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar for their visionary leadership and commitment to empowering the youth of the nation.
