Railway launches 'Fortress Check' ticket drive at stations; nets Rs 2.77 lakh from 327 ticketless travellers
Ferozepur, February 8, 2026: Northern Railway's Firozpur Division launched a special ticket-checking campaign named "Fortress Check" at Ludhiana Railway Station on February 7, 2026, to curb ticketless travel.
During the drive, which ran continuously from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, ticket-checking staff and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel apprehended 327 ticketless passengers and recovered ₹2,77,000 in revenue. Around 20 ticket inspectors and RPF jawans participated in the intensive operation.
"Fortress Check" is a surprise, high-intensity inspection conducted without prior notice at stations, trains, or rail sections. Joint teams of ticket staff and RPF rigorously verify passengers' tickets, IDs, and compliance with railway rules to prevent ticketless travel and boost revenue.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Parmdeep Singh Saini appealed to passengers to always travel with valid tickets. He assured that such special drives will continue in the future to ensure passenger convenience and revenue protection.
