Youth booked under POCSO Act for possessing child pornography
Ferozepur, September 5, 2025: The Cyber Crime Police of Ferozepur have registered a case under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act after child pornography material was found on a youth’s mobile phone.
Inspector Navneet Kaur, in charge of the Cyber Crime Police Station, informed that a raid was conducted at the residence of Gagandeep Singh, son of Lal Singh, a resident of Ferozepur. During the operation, the police seized a mobile phone. The device was later sent for forensic examination at Sitsu Lab, Ferozepur.
On analysing the extracted data, investigators discovered objectionable content involving child pornography. Following this, a case was registered against Gagandeep Singh under the relevant provisions of the POCSO Act and the Information Technology Act.
Police said strict action will be taken as such crimes not only violate the law but also pose a serious threat to society and child safety.
