Nawanshahr ,May 02, 2020: The Helping Humanity Society has provided 1500 N-masks and 1500 sanitisers worth Rs. 2.25 Lakh to the policemen, who have been braving the dreaded pandemic COVID-19 in the district. The activists of the Society distributed the requisite safety material for the front line Corona warriors here at SSP office.
SSP, Alka Meena, expressed her gratitude towards the Helping Human Society for the commendable gesture towards the cops.
Buta Singh, brother of Manjit Singh France ( Helping Humanity Society), said that the police had been playing a pivotal role in fighting the COVID-19 in the district. Besides discharging it's duty of implementing the curfew instructions, the district police in collaboration with NGOs, had been helping the needy during the unprecedented crisis.
The " Helping Humanity Society" with the financial help mostly from the NRI philanthropists, including, Manjit Singh France, Gopal Bali, Vicky Bains, Baldev Singh Gill, Kulwant Nagra, have been extending help to the needy. The Society has also extended financial assistance amounting to Rs. One Lakh to the brave SI, Harjeet Singh, who was attacked by the Nihangs at Patiala, he said while adding that the Society activists - Amar Aery( Hosiarpur), Yashpal( Phagwara), Kaka Phagwara Lakhwinder Mahilpur, Sandip Kumar, accompanied by ASIs Pargat Singh and Sukhpal Singh, have chalked out a plan to distribute masks and sanitizers to the cops at nakas.
SP Balwinder Singh Bhikhi, DSP, Harneel Singh, SI Gaurav Shirt, among others, were present on the occasion.
