Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee hold online meeting
DRUCC member urge for special trains to bring back migrant workers
Ferozepur, October 16, 2020: On Friday, the Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee – DRUCC conducted online first meeting of the year, under the chairmanship of Rajesh Aggarwal, Divisional Rail Manager-DRM, Ferozepur Rail Division, which could not be head earlier due to Covid pandemic.
The DRUCC members sought various passengers’ amenities such as rail link, foot over, under bridge, stop over and special train to bring back the migrant workers.
Addressing the members of the committee, the DRM said that due to division on front line in the railways, the first contact is made with the passengers and goods train customers and the main effort of the board is to address the deficiencies found in their basic facilities.
During the meeting, Vijaypal Singh, a member of the committee, requested for providing rail link in Balachor. Amir Singh Makkar urged to extend the foot over / under bridge of Guniana railway station and to convert the railway gate near Guniana Mandi into a rail over bridge. Krishna Kochhar Minta requested to stop the Jammu Rajdhani at Jalandhar Cantt and run a special train to bring back the migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
The DRM, who presided, promised necessary action as per the provisions and limitations at the divisional level and rest of the suggestions will be brought to the notice of Railway Board. He added that the next meeting will be held on November 18.
