Jail for spreading corona infection in train, railway starts campaign
Delhi, October 27, 2020: The railway has started a campaign to take action against the passengers boarding the train, for not following protocols laid down for COvid-19. The violators could be booked under various sections of the Railway Act, may have to pay fines and even face imprisonment of 5 years.
Railways have started an awareness campaign to make common people and railway passengers aware of the measures to prevent Covid-19 infection.
Detailed guidelines have been issued by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) for travellers specially for the upcoming festive season. The guidelines list the various acts or omissions that passengers have to desist from while at railway premises.
Spitting or wilful ejection of body fluid/waste in a public area is also unlawful, the RPF said.
Keeping in mind the Coronavirus, Railways is already running only reserve trains by following the health protocols in trains. Only those passengers who have confirmed tickets are allowed to come to the station.
