Centre government discriminates with Punjab by stopping goods trains: Kiki Dhillon
Faridkot, November 1, 2020: The Union Government was not serious about the supply of essential commodities like coal, fertilizers in Punjab and despite the clearance of railway tracks by the farmers rather discriminated with the State by stopping goods trains, said Kushaldeep Singh Kiki Dhillon, Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Punjab and MLA from Faridkot.
He said, the supply of coal and other essential commodities in the state has been cut off by the Center and now inflicting economic loss on Punjab with these moves.
Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon said that the anti-Punjab face of the Center and the BJP has been completely exposed by the moves of the Union Government which are being carried out at the behest of Prime Minister and the BJP. With the shutdown, Punjab's thermal plants have only one or two days of coal left which could lead to a severe power crisis in the coming days. All this is happening due to pressure from the Center on the Railway Ministry. He said that with the economic loss taking place, the interruption in the supply of coal and fertilizer in Punjab was having a detrimental effect on the power and the farmers.
Since the finished goods of the traders and industrialists of the state had not gone out for a long time, they are suffering huge losses which are having a detrimental effect on the economy of Punjab and the working class as well, he added.
Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon MLA further said that Punjab government was already going through economic hardships but instead of helping Punjab for financial loss due to Corona, Punjab government owed hundreds of crores of GST to the Center which itself speaks of discrimination by the Center against Punjab.
MLA said that apart from the anti-farmer decisions being taken by the Union government, it had also stopped the RDF (Rural Development Fund) for the development of rural areas of Punjab which was a shock to the people of the state.
He said that Punjab government under the able leadership of Punjab CM Capt. Amarinder Singh was committed to safeguard the interests of the state including farmers, laborers, traders and the Punjab government had is ready to make any sacrifice to safeguard the interests of the state and he will now back out.
He said that the Punjab Vidhan Sabha under the leadership of the CM had protected all sections including the farmers of the state by repealing the anti-agriculture black ordinances of the Center and bringing new laws in the interest of Punjab.
The Minister and the MLAs would meet the President and demand the sealing of the farmer friendly laws passed by the Punjab Vidhan Sabha and also the repeal of the anti-farmer, labor and traders ordinance of the Center.
