Farmers organizations should allow hassle-free movement of passenger’s trains in Punjab : Bir Devinder Singh
Patiala, November 8, 2020: The agitating farmer’s organizations should seriously deliberate upon the issue to allow hassle-free movement of passenger’s trains in Punjab, as they have precisely agreed to the movement of goods trains. The non-operation of the passenger’s trains in Punjab is causing great difficulties to general public and the total halt of passenger trains is advantageous only for the transporter’s lobby. The huge private transport fleet owned by the Badal family and their allies are seemingly the biggest beneficiaries of the disarray and chaos and as result of this terrible mess; they are pocketing huge money from the hapless public.
We are being approached by the general public almost every day to take up the reasonable public issue with the Kisan leaders, in order to persuade them to soften their stand on the issue. The Kisan leaders of left orientations must understand the nuance of the matter and read ‘between the lines’ message which is transcending all over in the public mind, manifested by lobbies that be.
The Railway Minister and the farmer unions must see logic in this public demand and allow the smooth operation all trains in Punjab notwithstanding the continuation of the farmer’s agitation for their most legitimate demands.
The Prime Minister Mr. Narinder Modi must shun his obstinate attitude to harm the farmer’s interests in the country, to out rightly support the business interest of the Corporate Houses. The Government of India led by Mr. Narinder Modi must read the writing on the wall and learn some lesson from the US Presidential elections; after the defeat of ‘irrational obstinacy and inflexibility’ pursued by Mr. Donald Trump, all through his presidency. The dogmatic code of fascism has no abode, in the Spirit of democracy, it is beautifully defined and treasured in the basic postulates of the constitution of India. Mr. Narinder Modi and his party should also become conscious by watching the countrywide adverse trends of the public mind, against the autocratic rule of Mr. Modi as things are much evident from the exit polls, pertaining to Bihar Assembly elections.
