Under Fit India Campaign, Railways organizes T-20 Premier League Tournament
Ferozepur Queen team of RWKS defeated Captain of Captain team in a friendly match
Ferozepur, December 1, 2020: Under Fit India Campaign, the Railways Sports Department has organized T-20 Premier League Tournament being held at Railway Stadium.
Divulging with details, Divisional Sports Officer, Sudhir Kumar Singh said that under the Fit India campaign initiated by Prime Minister, several fitness programs were organized in Ferozepur division.
He told that in this context, a cricket tournament was started between November 28 to December 6, 2020, between different departments of Ferozepur division with participation of both officers and subordinate employees. This will not only increase awareness about fitness, but will also improve their harmony.
DSO said, the tournament was inaugurated by Chief Guest Mrs. Namita Agarwal and Divisional Railway Manager Rajesh Aggarwal on 28 November at Railway Ground, Ferozepur.
Subsequently, the Ferozepur Queen of the Railway Women's Kalyaan Sangathan defeated the Captain of Captain team in a friendly match which was enjoyed by one and all. Two matches were played on 29 and 30 November. In the first match played on 29th, the Commercial Champions defeated the Operating All Rounder, while in the second match, the Engineering Strikers defeated the Electron Blasters. In the first match played on 30th, the Mechanical Sunrisers defeated the Administration Lions while in the second match the Medical and Accounts Warriors defeated the RPF Challengers.
The semi-finals between the four winning teams will be played on 5 December and the final on 6 December.
DRM informed that the Ministry of Health, Sports and Youth Affairs and other departments of the Government of India have jointly issued a health-friendly fitness protocol. The main goal of this protocol is to make the staff aware of mental and physical health during the corona epidemic and keep them fit. He also gave a message to society that if they include physical activities like running, sports, workout, yoga etc. in their daily routine then they will remain healthy.
