Anti-Corona Task Force and Rotary Club recognizes services of 90 NGOs during Corona pandemic
Commissioner, Gurjar honours Malvika Sachhar – film actor Sonu Sood’s sister - with Covid Warrior Award-2020
Ferozepur, December 19, 2020: The Non-government Organizations – NGOs have always played a commendable role and made their invaluable contribution to the progress of society in the event of any crisis in Punjab or in the eradication of social evils.
This was stated by Sumer Singh Gurjar, Commissioner Ferozepur Division while addressing a function jointly organized by Anti Corona Task Force and Rotary Club Ferozepur Cantt jointly to recognize the services of 90 social service organizations of Ferozepur district, doing praiseworthy events in different fields for the poor and needy persons as per their requirement.
Praising the initiative and lauding the work done by the social organizations during Corona pandemic, Gurjar said that the district administration and the Punjab government would extend all possible help to the NGOs.
On this occasion, famous Bollywood actor and social activist Sonu Sood's sister Malvika Sachhar was especially honored with Covid Warriors Award 2020.
Rotarian Vijay Arora District Governor, Major Pradeep State Coordinator, Harinder Singh Khosa Congress Leader, Chandra Mohan Handa President Chamber of Commerce, Mrs. Pushpa Behl were special guests on the occasion.
Ashok Behl President, Anti Corona Task Force formally welcomed the guests and elaborated on the invaluable contribution made by NGOs and religious organizations during the Corona epidemic.
Sharing her personal experiences in the field of social services, Malvika Sood Sachhar also motivated the social workers who have done a commendable job by helping the needy class, in their hour of crisis. She hoped that this spiriting of helping others as per their need would be continued features for times to come.
Rotarian Vijay Arora, Major Pradeep, Dr. Satinder Singh General Secretary, Kuldeep Singh Sandhu, President Rotary Club Ferozepur Cantt also addressed the audience saying that service to humanity is the greatest service on this planet earth.
The visually-impaired team of Home for the Blind enthralled the audience, especially Yash Pauls’s hand on violin, on this occasion.
The entire team of Anti-Task Force was instrumental in making the event a grand success and Ravi Inder Singh, State Awardee and Kamal Sharma compered the master of ceremony of the event.
