Provides medication, Langar, games for farmers

Tikri Border (Delhi), Janaury 12, 2021: A doctor from US and a resident of Pakhoke village in Khadoor Sahib is serving for the farmers sitting at the massive agitation here in a great way. Went to New Jersey in US 24 years ago, Dr Sawai Man Singh along with his team members of Five Rivers Heart Association, an NGO, has converted the under-construction bus stand of Bahadurgarh into a big shelter home, called 'Pind California', where over 4,000 farmers will get accommodation. Along with this, various facilities like games, kirtan, literature, washrooms containing electric geyser, washing machines, langar, etc will be offered to them in this Pind California.
Dr Sawai Man Singh said, "I beleive the first duty of any person is to serve the people of his nation, who passes through tough times. So, I come here after leaving my job behind to serve the farmers of my country who are fighting for their rights." He said 'Pind California' will provide the home-like facilities to the farmers, especially, the elderly women. "For this, we have started the renovation work in the bus stand after getting the permission. Soon, the washrooms containing toilet seats, urinals as well as electrical geysers will be available for the farmers. For their sleeping purpose, we will be providing them blankets, mattresses and all daily need items to them. Also me along with a team of doctors will remain inside the building everyday to provide medication to the farmers, " said Dr Sawai Man Singh.
Man Singh added that the youth can play volleyball, cricket and soccer here and the equipments will be provided to them. There will be a Kirtan hall for the farmers to conduct evening prayers and a revolutionary hall also, which will provide information about the history of Punjab. Talking about the capacity of 'Pind California', Dr Man Singh said, "Currently, we can accommodate over 4,000 people but in future we will increase the capacity to 15,000. The rooms are being regularly sanitized in view of the covid-19."
He said the California city has basic health care and all the basic facilities following which he decided to provide the same things here.
Appealing to others, Dr Sawai Man Singh said, "Every doctor should come here to serve the farmers. We already earned a lot of money through our profession. Now its a time to left behind the job and to stand with the farmers."
