Chakka Jam: Protesters block traffic in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, February 6, 2021: After the major tractor rally by the protesting farmers against the 3-Farm Laws on Republic Day, which broke off the planned parade route, today Chakka Jam was the first major event.
On January 26, the farmers had entered Delhi and clashed with the police besides hoisting of a Nishan Sahib a triangular flag that is sacred to Sikhs at the iconic Red Fort and police is already on the look out of certain persons including Deep Sidhu booked for the incident.
On Monday, the farmer's unions had announced a countrywide ‘chakka jam’ on February 6 for three hours from 12 noon to 3 pm, in protest against the repeal of 3-FarmLaws. Today, the farmers in good numbers, gathered at Octroi Post No.7 and blocked the traffic.
Farmers have been protesting at different borders of the national capital since November 26 last year against the three newly enacted farm laws: Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; the Farmers Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and farm Services Act 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
