BJP faces strong enmity in Mohali, workers approach police after incidents of posters tear down

Mohali, February 9, 2021:
Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) workers today approached Mohali police after the posters of their candidates were torn down in some parts of the city. Many BJP candidates are facing strong objection here amid the campaigning of Mohali Municipal Corporation (MC) elections. The incidents also came to light today when some people tore down the posters of BJP candidates here.
The party in-charge KD Bhandari along with other workers today met Mohali Superintendent of Police (city) Harwinder Singh Virk and Deputy Superintendent of Police (city 2) Deep Kamal to submit their complaint in this regard and demanded strict actions against the ones involved in these acts.
As per BJP, the posters of Chhavi Sharma from ward number 18, Geeta Anand from ward number 3, Seema Joshi from ward number 19, and Krishan Kumar from ward number 20, were torn down by some unidentified people. The videos of these incidents could also be seen on social media.
BJP alleged that the Congress party is behind these incidents as they are feeling fearful now.
Mohali SP (city) Harwinder Singh Virk said, “We have received the complaint of BJP workers in this regard. We are identifying the people and also verifying the facts. A case will be registered only after the investigation is completed.”
