Enforce Covid appropriate' behavior, next 15 days critical: SSP Gurdaspur
Gurdaspur, February 23, 2021: Amid the spike in Covid-19 cases in six states of India including Punjab, senior superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajinder Singh Sohal has asked the police to remain alert and take immediate steps of enforcing ‘Covid appropriate’ behavior.
In a letter to Gazetted Officers (GO’s), SHOs, Traffic staff, PP units along district PCR, SSP has stressed the rising Covid-19 positive cases in the state.
“As you are aware there has been a surge in the daily number of cases over the last few days in six states including Punjab. It is assessed that the next 15 days for critical for curbing the spread of Covid-19 virus,” said SSP.
SSP directed the police to ensure that people are wearing masks, restricting the size of gathering in enclosed spaces (especially in marriage palaces and hostels).
He said that FIR and challans are to be issued against those who are found violating the instructions issued by central and state governments.
“All GO’s and SHO’s will be personally responsible for ensuring strict enforcement of Covid appropriate behavior with immediate effect,” he further said.
