Platform ticket price increased to control crowd amid spike in COVID cases: DRM
Ferozepur, March 19, 2021: The Railways has raised the price of platform tickets from Rs.10 to Rs.50, to prevent overcrowding at the stations.
In the wake of the recent spike in the Covid-19 cases in few states and the Govt of India is taking all measures to prevent the spread of the virus infection and to control the passengers at the railway station, the Indian Railways has once again increased the price of platform tickets from March 19 at all the stations in Ferozepur, said DRM Rajesh Aggarwal.
DRM said, the price of the platform has been raised from Rs.10 to Rs.50, which will remain in force till June 15, 2021, on A1 and A category stations of Ferozepur Division – Shri Mata Vaisno Devi Katra, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jammu Tawi Jalandhar City, Udhampur, Pathankot, Pathankot Cante, Jalandhar Cantt, Phagwara, Beas and Ferozepur Cantt.
He further said, the platform price has been increased to Rs 40 at Faridkot, Kathua stations and the platform tickets at other stations of the division have been increased to Rs 30.
DRM said, this increase has been taken keeping in mind the interests of the passengers. He informed that platform tickets are issued through unreserved ticketing system; -ATVMA UTS and on the mobile app.
