At last, Punjab asks UP to take away Ansari
Chandigarh, April 4, 2021: Punjab government asked the UP govt to take away gangster turned MLA Mukhtar Ansari from Punjab. ACS Home Punjab has written a letter to UP Home Department to take away gangster turned MLA Mukhtar Ansari from state by April 8, 2021.
In this letter, copy of which is with Babushahi.com, Punjab has said that in pursuance of Supreme Court order in the matter, i.e. to transfer Ansari from Punjab’s Ropar jail to UP’s Banda jail.
The letter says that UP to ensure that Ansari is presented before Mohali court via videoconferencing on April 12 in a criminal case registered against him in Punjab.
It is worth mentioning here that Punjab Police had booked Ansari for threatening a Punjab businessmen on phone with a motive to get ranson. Case was registered at Mohali.

In the letter, Punjab Home Department also told UP to ensure that necessary arrangements for his transfer be made keeping in view his medical condition.
It may be remembered that earlier Punjab has flatly refused to hand over Ansari to UP due to his medical conditions. A board of PGI had also confirmed that Ansari has a severe back pain and he is also suffering from heart ailments.
UP has demanded custody of Ansari for cases registered against him in the state. After Punjab’s refusal UP had moved Supreme Court which ordered that Ansari be handed over to UP with 15 days.
