2 arrested for assaulting SHO in Jalandhar
Jalandhar, April 11, 2021: Taking stern cognisance of the assault on Station House officer (SHO) by some miscreants, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has arrested two of the attackers whereas Commissioner of Police Mr Gurpreet Singh Bhullar has constituted a Special teams to nab the other attackers.
Divulging more details, the Commissioner of Police said that as part of the night domination to enforce night curfew in district SHO Bhargo camp Mr Bhagwant Singh was doing patrolling in Bhargo camp locality in wee hours on Sunday when he noticed few youth standing there.
He said that when the SHO asked their reason of standing thereby violating the curfew, they attacked the Police officer and his security. Mr Bhullar said that when the SHO informed the control room senior Police officers rushed to the spot and arrested two youths identified as Manpreet Singh S/o Ravinder Pal Singh and Kamalpreet Singh S/o Jaspal Singh.
However, the Commissioner of Police said that two other accused identified as Harmandeep Singh S/o Jaspal Singh and Avtar Singh S/o Ajit Singh fled from the spot. Mr Bhullar said that raids to nab remaining two culprits were on and they would be behind the bars soon. He unequivocally said the assault on an on duty Police officer was unwarranted and undesirable.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police said that a special teams have been constituted under supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr Jagmohan Singh to arrest the absconding culprits. He categorically said that severest of severe action including speedy trial would be ensured against these law breakers.
