Educational Institutions, IELTS/Coaching Centers closed in Ludhiana till April 30
PROHIBITS INDUSTRIAL USE OF OXYGEN, EXCEPT IN NINE INDUSTRIES TO MEET RISING DEMAND FOR COVID PATIENTS
Ludhiana, April 19, 2021: District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Monday ordered the closing of all educational institutions such as schools & colleges, etc besides IELTS and other coaching centers in the district till April 30, 2021, in the district.
In the order, the District Magistrate said as all educational institutions including schools/colleges are already closed since April 9, it has been found that IELTS and other coaching centers are running in full capacity.
Due to the sharp resurgence of Covid cases and to avoid gathering of students, Varinder Kumar Sharma ordered that these IELTS/other coaching centers would remain shut till April 30 in the district. He said that online classes are allowed for these centers. He said that violators would face legal action.
In a separate order, he has prohibited the use of oxygen for the industrial purpose (except in nine industries) to meet the rising demand for oxygen for Covid-19 patients and said this order will not apply for nine industries including Ampoules and vials, Pharmaceutical, Petroleum refineries, Steel Plants, Nuclear energy facilities, Oxygen cylinder manufacturers, Wastewater treatment plants, Food and water purification and Process industries which require the uninterrupted operation of fumes processes as approved by Punjab Government. He told that this order would come into effect from April 22, 2021, and non-compliance would be dealt with strictly.
